Purble Place is actually three games in one: Comfy Cakes, Purble Shop, and Purble pairs. Comfy Cakes. This game puts you in the kitchen Purble bakery, where you must fill out an order from a batch of cakes. Training Computer:Working with digital pictures

Photo editing and printing once required a darkroom or a professional photo lab-not to mention advanced training. But over the past decade, digital cameras and computers have revolutionized the field of photography, which allows anyone to edit and print photos at home. In this article, you learn how Windows tools can help you view, organize, edit, share and print your digital photos.

Getting images from your camera to your computer
Most digital cameras photos on a flash memory card, like a CompactFlash or Secure Digital (SD) card. Once you have completed a memory card capacity with pictures, you'll need to import the pictures on your computer. Then you can erase the memory card and use it to make a new batch of images.

There are two ways to import pictures:

Connect the camera directly. You can import images by connecting the device directly to your computer via a Universal Serial Bus (USB). With this method, your device must be activated to import pictures to a battery power. You will also need to keep the cable handy if you regularly import pictures.

Use a memory card reader. The fastest way to import pictures is to use a memory card reader that you purchase separately. Remove the memory card from your camera, slide it into the card reader and then plug the card reader into the USB port on your computer. Many computers have card readers, allowing you to slide memory cards directly on the computer.

Whatever method you choose, Windows should automatically recognize your camera or card reader when you connect to your computer (if it does not see camera to troubleshoot connection problems or tips to solve the problems with USB devices). Then, follow these steps:

In the dialog box automatically, click on Import pictures using Windows. Windows will find the images on your memory card.

Once Windows finds your photos, asks if you want to create a label (a word or short phrase that describes the group) for the photos you import. If you do, type the tag name tag in these photos (optional) box. If the photos are not imported a single common feature, skip this step. You can always add tags to photos later (see "organizer and find your pictures in this article).
Windows begins importing your photos, select Erase after importing check box if you want to delete images from your memory card after import is complete. This allows the area on the map so you can make a new batch of images.

After your photos are imported, it appears in Windows Photo Gallery.

Tip
You can use a device called a scanner to convert conventional photos into digital photos.

Windows Photo Gallery and the Pictures folder
Windows Photo Gallery is a tool included with Windows that allows you to view, organize, edit, share and print your digital photos (and videos too). It opens automatically after importing a lot of pictures. To open it at other times, click Start, click Programs, then click Windows Photo Gallery.

Windows Photo Gallery is designed to be used with the Pictures folder, the main storage place for photos on your computer. All the pictures in the Pictures folder, including those you've imported-appear in the photo gallery. To open the Pictures folder, click the Start button, click on Documents, then click Photos.

Windows Photo Gallery and the Pictures folder can do some of the same things. For example, you can view photos, print photos and see a slideshow of your photos from the Pictures folder or Photo Gallery. So who should you use?

In general, Photo Gallery is the best place to work with your photos. It lets you see all your photos in one place and it is easy to see by date, tag, and other criteria. It also includes some features that the Pictures folder does not have the ability to set exposure and color of an image, culture, and remove red eye.

Viewing your photos
Windows Photo Gallery provides a variety of options for displaying your photo collection. When you first open gallery, you see all your photos and videos. To see only the photos, click the arrow next to all the photos and videos, then click Photos.

Working with thumbnails
Windows Photo Gallery displays your photos as thumbnails-small versions of full size photos. To view the greatest number of vignettes as possible, make Photo Gallery window fill your screen by clicking on its button Zoom.

To change the size of thumbnails, click the Zoom button, then move the cursor up or down. You can make small thumbnails to quickly browse a large collection of picture. Or, make larger thumbnail to see more detail in each image. Change the thumbnail size does not affect the full-sized version of the image.

To return to the original vision of medium-sized stickers, click the thumbnail size default button.

For small and medium-sized stickers, pointing to a thumbnail displays a larger preview, as well as some information about the image.

Rotate image
Vertical pictures appear sideways in the photo gallery. You can turn these images to the correct orientation by clicking the button rotate counterclockwise to the right or the key
See a full size image
To view an image to fill most of the gallery of photos from the window, double-click the image. On the right side of the window, the Info window displays information about your picture and you can add tags to it (see "Add tags to images below).

To see the greatest possible to the image, maximizing the Photo Gallery window. You can also close the Info window by clicking the close button at the top of the window.

To zoom in on part of the image, click the Zoom button and move the cursor up. As you zoom in, you can drag any part of the image pointer by hand to move the image around. To return to the normal view, click the Fit to window.

To return to the thumbnail view, click Back to the gallery.

View a slideshow of your photos
You can display your digital photos in full-screen slide show that runs automatically. You can also choose from a variety of topics that include slide animation and other visual effects. Some themes show multiple images on the screen at once, as shown in the image below.

To start a slideshow, select the photos you want, then click the slideshow button at the bottom of the photo gallery. If you do not select photos, the slide show will include all photos in the current view.

If a slideshow is running, you can pause, adjust the speed, move forward or backward, and choose whether the images are displayed randomly or sequentially. To view the slideshow controls, move the mouse over the bottom of the screen. If controls are not displayed, right-click the slideshow to display a menu.

To end a slide show, press ESC or click on Quit in the slideshow controls.

Organizer and find your photos
If you use your digital camera regularly, you'll soon accumulate hundreds or thousands of files on your computer. When you need an image in your collection, the tools in Windows Photo Gallery can help.

Find photos by date
Your digital camera photos with labels when they were taken. Photo Gallery uses this information to automatically organize your photos by date. In this way, you can browse your photos by year, month or day they were taken.

To find images by date, click a year, month or date today in the navigation pane (left pane) from the photo gallery. You can see all photos taken during the period you select.

Add tags to images
You can use Windows Photo Gallery to add tags to your images words or phrases that describe who or what is in the image and where the photo was taken. The lighting of your images makes them much easier to find in the future, because you can easily view all the images that have a particular tag.

If adding tags to each image sounds of the time, do not worry, you can add tags to a batch of images at once. For example, you can add a "mood" tag to 20 or 30 pictures of a birthday party. To add tags to photos, follow these steps:

In the gallery, select the photos you want to label. To select multiple photos, hold down the CTRL key while you click on the photos.

Click the Info button. The Info window opens.

In the Info window, click Add tags, type the tag name in the box, and then press ENTER. The tag is added to all selected photos. You can add as many tags as you want.

You do not need to type tags if you've already created. (You can see the tags you've created by clicking the arrow next to Tags in the navigation pane of the Photo Gallery.) To add a tag to a photo, drag one or more images for the tag, as shown in the image below.

Try to get in the habit of tagging your pictures immediately after their importation. This way you will not end with a backlog of images that must be labeled. For more information, see Tag pictures so they're easy to find and tips for organizing photos.

Find photos by tag
Once you've marked photos in the gallery, it is easy to find again. Simply type the tag in the search box. All photos with this tag appears. For example, in the example below, typing in all animals found photos with a tag containing the word "Animals". If photos have the word "animals" in their file name, they also appear.

If you do not remember tags that you created, click a tag in the Tags list to see all the photos with this tag.

Fixing images
It is not easy to take a picture perfect. That's why Windows Photo Gallery includes tools for editing your photos. To access these tools, select a picture, click the Fix button on the toolbar, then click the following options in the pane Fix:

Auto. Automatically optimize the image's brightness, contrast and color.

Adjust the exposure. Manually adjust the brightness and contrast. See Adjust the brightness and contrast of an image.

Adjust the color. Manually adjust color temperature, hue and saturation. See Setting the colors in a picture.

Crop the picture. Trim your image to remove items from distractions, focus on part of the scene, or change its proportions. See crop a photo.

Red-eye correction. Remove the appearance of red eyes caused by the flash reflecting off the eyes. See Remove red eye in an image.

Experience as much as you want because you can always undo your changes and return to the original version. For more information, see Tips for editing pictures.

Photo Sharing
Sharing your digital photos ways to make them available for others to view on their computers. Most often, sharing methods of posting pictures on a website and send pictures in e-mail.

Photo-sharing Web sites
One way to share digital photos with others is put online (copy) to a photo-sharing site. Friends and family members who invite you can visit the Web site and display your photo albums. Most photo-sharing sites let you share and store images for free. Note, however, that some sites delete your photos if you do not buy prints or gifts from the site for a certain period of time. Be sure to check the site policies.

Sharing photos by e-mail
Another way to share your photos by e-mail. You can use Windows Photo Gallery to attach photos to an e-mail. Photo Gallery can automatically compress (reduce their file size) for e-mail arrives more quickly and images take up less space on the recipient's computer. The original images are not affected.

To send photos by e-mail, select the photos in Windows Photo Gallery, and then click E-mail button on the toolbar. Join in the dialogue box, select an image format (the default size, medium, is generally good), then click Attach.

Windows opens a new e-mail in your mail program, which is Windows Mail by default. (To change this, see change the default e-mail.) The images you've selected are attached to the message.

To send the photo, enter the e-mail recipients, type a subject and write a brief message. Then click Send. For more information, see Getting started with e-mail and send images or videos in e-mail.

Tip
You can also send pictures from the Pictures folder in an e-mail. Click on the images you want to send, and then on the toolbar, click E-mail.

Printing images
This section deals with three main printing methods. For general information about printing, see Start printing.

The help of a printer
If you have a printer at home, you can print your own photos. Inkjet printers and dye-sublimation can both printers high quality color photographs when used with special paper. Many have built-in memory card readers and small LCD screens so you can print photos without using your computer.

You can print photos from your computer in several ways. You can print a single image, print multiple photos on one page, or print a contact sheet (a grid image for easy reference).

To print photos using Windows Photo Gallery, select the photos you want to print. On the toolbar, click Print, then click Print. In Print pictures of the dialog box, choose your printing options, then click Print.
For ordering prints online
Home printers are convenient and allow you to make quick impressions. But if you want to save the expense and hassle of buying ink and paper, use an online photo printing service. These services allow you to download (copy) of your pictures to a website. From there you can order prints in a variety of sizes and pay with a credit card. The prints are completed then mailed to your home or office.

One of the advantages of using online photo printing services is the variety of products they offer. Besides regular prints, you can order custom T-shirts, greeting cards, calendars, mugs, posters, mouse pads, and all holders of images you choose. In addition, these sites usually offer photo-sharing services (see "Sharing photos" above).

You can also order prints directly from Windows Photo Gallery or the Pictures folder.
Getting prints from a retailer
If you want prints quickly and do not have a printer, you can take your camera memory card to a store that offers digital photo printing services. Stores that offer these services include camera stores, large retail stores, and even some grocery stores and pharmacies. Some stores offer self-service photo kiosks that allow you to edit, crop and print your photos in minutes.

Backing up your photos

A network card is a device that connects your computer to a network. To connect your laptop or desktop computer to your wireless network, the computer must have a wireless network adapter. Most mobile PCs and many desktops come with a wireless network card installed. To check if your computer has a wireless network card, follow these steps:

Click here to open Device Manager. If you are prompted to enter an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Search for a network card that includes "wireless" in the name.

If your computer needs a wireless network adapter, you can buy one from a computer or electronics store and install it yourself. Setting up the modem and Internet connection

Protect your router to change the default username and password. Most router manufacturers have a default username and password on the router and a network name by default. Sharing files and printers

File Sharing
The easiest way to share files on your network is to place them in the Public folder. Any file or folder that you put in the Public folder is automatically shared with people connected to your network. To enable the sharing of public records, follow these steps:

If any of the security elements have a red or yellow, your computer may be vulnerable to security threats. To solve the problem, click an item to expand it, then follow the instructions.

What are security alerts?
If Windows detects that your computer may need to strengthen security in a security area-firewall, automatic updates, malware protection, or other security settings, you will see a notification each When you connect until the problem is resolved. Because new spyware appears every day, Windows Defender must be updated regularly to detect and protect against the latest spyware threats. Windows Defender is updated every time you update Windows. For the highest level of protection, set Windows to install updates automatically (see below).

Windows update automatically
Microsoft regularly offers important updates for Windows that can help protect your computer against new viruses and other threats to security. To ensure you receive these updates as quickly as possible, turn on automatic updating. In this way, you do not have to worry that critical fixes for Windows might be missing from your computer.

Updates are downloaded in the background when you are connected to the Internet. Updates are installed à 3h00 unless you specify another time. If you turn off your computer before then, you can install the updates before shutting down. Otherwise, Windows will install the next time you start your computer.

Tips for using e-mail and Web Security
Be cautious when opening e-mail attachments. e-mail attachments (files attached to e-mails) are the main source of infection by the virus. Never open an attachment from someone you do not know. Protect your personal information carefully. If a Web site requires a credit card number, bank account information or other personal information, make sure you trust the Web site and verify that its transaction system is secure. See When to trust a Web site.

Use anti-phishing filter in Internet Explorer. Phishing is the practice of creating fraudulent e-mails and Web sites to trick computer users to reveal personal or financial information. The fraudulent e-mail or website appears to be a trusted source, such as a bank, credit card company, or reputations online. Be careful when you click on links in e-mails. Hyperlinks (links that open websites when you click them) are often used as part of phishing and spyware scams, but they can also transmit viruses. Just click on links in emails that you trust.

You can use Windows to keep track of people and organizations by creating contacts for them in Windows Contacts. Each contains contact information for a person or organization.

When you need to look for a friend's email address or phone number, you can open your Contacts folder and find there. If you want to take notes on a contact, you can store them in the Contacts folder. Whatever the type of contact information you want to remember about someone, you can put it in the Contacts folder own image.

The Contacts folder also functions like the address book for Windows Mail. When you create an e-mail message in Windows Mail, you select the recipient from your Contacts folder. Even if you do not use Windows Mail as your e-mail, you can still use Windows Contacts to store information on persons and agencies.

What is in a contact?
You can store as much information as you want on each contact, including one of the following:

E-mail. Store as many email addresses as you want for a contact, and create one as the preferred address. (The best e-mail address is what Windows Mail will use if you want to send someone e-mail quickly without selecting from a list of all their addresses.)

An image. Adding a photo of a contact can help you remember the person.

Phone numbers. You can store home, work, cell, fax and phone numbers of contact.

Addresses. You can store both home and work addresses of contact.

Information on families. You can enter information about a contact's spouse or partner, children, sex, date of birth and birthday.

Website addresses. You can store both home and work address of a website for a contact.

Notes. Type other information on a contact.

Click here to open Windows Contacts.

Adding a contact
Click here to open Windows Contacts.

Click New contact, and then type the information you want to contact one of the boxes on the tabs available. You do not need to complete all cases, simply enter as much information as you want on the contact.

Double-click the contact you want to change.

Click on the tab where you want to add information, then type in one of the boxes available.

Adding a new image to a contact
Click here to open Windows Contacts.

Double-click the contact with the image you want to change. (Windows adds a default image for each contact that you can change at any picture or graphic you want.)

On the name and e-mail, click on the image of contact, and one of the following methods:

To add a new image, click Change picture, locate the image you want to use to contact, click it, then click Open.

To remove an existing image, click Delete image. The situation will return to the image of default contact used by Windows. (You can not delete this file by default.)

Creating contact groups (mailing lists)
You can also create contact groups, which combine multiple contacts into a single group. Create a contact group you can send e-mail to many people. If you send an e-mail to a contact group, it will be sent to all that you have added to the group. Sending e-mail to a contact group may be much easier than adding names one at a time to an e-mail message, especially if you often send messages to a group of people.

Sending contacts to other people

E-mail (short for electronic mail) is a fast and convenient way to communicate with others. You can use e-mail to:

Send and receive text messages. You can send an e-mail to anyone with an e-mail. The message reaches the recipient of the e-mail within seconds or minutes, if he or she is your neighbor or life halfway around the world.

E-mail address is two way. You can receive messages from anyone who knows your e-mail and read and reply to these messages.

Send and receive files. Apart from text, you can send virtually any type of file to an e-mail, including documents, pictures, and music. A file sent in an e-mail is called an attachment.

Send messages to groups of people. You can send an e-mail to several people simultaneously. Recipients can respond to the whole group, allowing for group discussions.

To transmit messages. When you receive an e-mail, you can transmit it to others without retyping it.

One advantage of e-mail by phone or by regular mail is its convenience: You can send a message at any time of day or night. If the recipients are not at their computers and online (connected to the Internet) when you send the message, they will wait for the next time they check their e-mail. If they are online, you may get an answer in minutes.

E-mail is also free. Unlike sending an ordinary letter, no stamp or fee is required, regardless of where the recipient lives. The only fees that apply are those you pay for an Internet connection.

What should I do before using e-mail?
To use e-mail, you need three things:

An Internet connection. To connect your computer to the Internet, you must first register with an Internet service provider (ISP). An Internet service provider gives you access to the Internet, usually for a monthly fee. You also need a modem.
An e-mail or Web service. You can use Windows Mail, an e-mail program included with Windows. You can also use another e-mail software, once you install on your computer.

If you prefer, you can subscribe instead of a free web-based email service such as Gmail, MSN Hotmail or Yahoo! Mail. These services allow you to check your e-mail with a Web browser from any computer connected to the Internet.

An e-mail. You receive an e-mail from your ISP or Web-based e-mail when you register. An e-mail consists of a user name (a pseudonym of your choice, not necessarily your real name), the @ sign, and the name of your ISP or Web-based e-mail provider, for example, someone@example.com.

Configuring Windows Mail
Once you have an e-mail and an Internet connection, you're ready to send and receive e-mail. To use e-mail in Windows Mail, you must first create an e-mail. Before adding an account, you'll need to get some information from your ISP: your e-mail address, password, the names of your incoming and outgoing e-mail servers, and some other details.
To add an e-mail in Windows Mail
Click to open Windows Mail.

On the Tools menu, click Accounts.

Click Add, click e-mail account, click Next, then follow the instructions.

During installation, you will be asked to choose a display name. This is the name that recipients will see when you send an e-mail.

Reading e-mails
Windows Mail checks to see if you received the e-mail whenever you start the program and every 30 minutes. (To change this interval, see check for new e-mail.) E-mail you receive in your inbox. The inbox is one of many cases that have e-mail.

To see a list of e-mail you received, click Inbox in the list of folders. Your e-mail messages appear in the list of messages. The list shows who sent the mail, subject, and when it was received.

To read a message, click in the list of messages. The content of the message below the list of messages in the preview window. To read the message in a separate window, double-click it in the list of messages.

Here's how to fill the message window in Windows Mail and most other e-mail programs:

In the To box, type the email address of at least one recipient. If you send the message to multiple recipients, type a semicolon (;) between the e-mail.

In the Cc box, you can type the email addresses of all secondary recipients who need to know about the message but did not need to act on it. They will receive the same message that the people in the area. If there is no secondary beneficiaries, leave this box empty.

In the Subject box, type a title for your message.

In the vast empty area, type your message.

To attach a file to a message, click the Attach a file to a message on the button in the toolbar (located just below the menu bar). Locate the file, select it and click Open. The file now appears in the box enclosed with the message header.

You're done! To send the message, click the Send button. It zip through the Internet to your recipients.

Note
To change the style, font, size or color of the text, select the text, then click on the buttons on the formatting toolbar (located just above the message box).

E-mail Etiquette
Like telephone conversations and face-to-face communication, communication by e-mail implied certain rules of behavior. These rules are called e-mail label or netiquette (a combination of "Internet" and "label"). For effective communication, follow these guidelines:

Be careful with humor and emotion. E-mail does not convey emotion well, so the recipient may not understand your intention tone. Sarcastic humor is particularly risky because the recipient might be interpreted literally and take offense. To convey emotion, consider the use of emoticons (see "Use emoticons" in this article).

Think before you send. Write and send an e-mail is quick and easy, sometimes too easy. Make sure you thought of your message first, and avoid writing when you are angry. Once you send the message, you can not recover.

Use a clear and concise subject line. Summarize the message in a few words. People who receive a large quantity of e-mail can use the object to prioritize the message.

Keep messages short. Even if an e-mail can be of any length, e-mail is designed for rapid communication. Many people do not have the time or the patience to read a few paragraphs.

Avoid using all capital letters. Many people perceive sentences written in all uppercase letters as "screaming" and find boring or offensive.

Be careful with sensitive or confidential information. Any recipient may send your message to other people either intentionally or accidentally.

In addition, in a formal or business communication, avoid spelling and grammar. Sloppy e-mail gives a little. Read your messages before sending, and if your e-mail program has a spelling checker, use it.
Use emoticons
Because it is often difficult to convey emotion, intent, or tone through text alone, early Internet users invented emoticons (a combination of "emotion" and "icons") sequences of keyboard characters that symbolize facial expressions. For example,:) looks like a smiling face when you look at it sideways. Here are some examples of emoticons.

Addressing junk e-mail
As you may receive unsolicited advertisements, brochures, catalogs and mail, you'll probably receive junk mail (often called "spam") in your inbox. Junk e-mail can include advertisements, fraudulent schemes, pornography, or offers legitimate. Because it is very inexpensive for marketers to send spam, it is not uncommon for people to receive a large amount of it.

Windows Mail includes a spam filters that analyze the content of messages sent to you and move suspicious messages to a junk mail folder, where you can view or delete at any time. And if a junk e-mail slips past the filter in your inbox, you can specify that all future messages from the sender is automatically moved to the Junk folder.
To help prevent junk e-mail:

Be careful when giving your e-mail. Avoid publishing your real e-mail discussion groups, on websites or in other areas of the Internet.

Before you give your e-mail to a Web site, visit privacy policy to make sure it does not disclose your e-mail to other companies.

Never respond to junk e-mail. The sender will know that your e-mail address is valid and may sell to other companies. You're likely to receive more junk mail.

Exploring the Internet
The Internet is a network that connects millions of computers worldwide. Not long ago, few people had heard of the Internet. Today, the Internet has revolutionized the way people use computers. Many people depend on it daily to communicate with others and get the information they need. You do not have to connect your computer to the Internet, but once you do, you probably wonder how you lived without it.

What is the Web?
Part of the Internet that most people are familiar with the World Wide Web (usually called the Web, or Web). The web is so popular that people often use the terms Internet and Web to mean the same thing. But the Internet also includes other services such as e-mail, newsgroups and file sharing. You can send an e-mail or participate in a discussion group without using the Web.

The site displays information in color, visually appealing format. Titles, text and images can be combined on one page (or page)-a bit like a page in a magazine with sounds and animations. A website (or site) is a collection of interconnected Web pages. The site contains millions of websites and billions of Web pages!

Web pages are linked to each other with hyperlinks (usually called just links), which can be text or images. When you click a link on a page, you are taken to another page. Purpose of a page with links is sometimes referred to surf the Web.

What can I do on the Internet?
Find information. The Web contains a large amount of information much more than even the largest libraries. For example, you can read news stories and movie reviews, check schedules of airlines, street maps, see, get weather forecasts for your city, research or health problem. Reference sources, such as dictionaries and encyclopedias, are widely available, along with historical documents and classic literature.

Most businesses, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, museums, libraries and web sites with information on their products, services, or collections. Many people with web sites publish journals called blogs (short for Web log) on their hobbies and interests.

Note
Even if the Web is excellent for research, not all information on the Web is reliable. Information on some Web sites may be inaccurate, outdated or incomplete. Before you trust information, make sure it comes from an authoritative source, and check other sources to verify the information.

Communicate. E-mail is one of the most popular uses of the Internet. You can send an e-mail to anyone with an e-mail, and it will arrive almost instantly in the recipient of the e-mail, even if he or she lives halfway around the world.
Instant messaging (IM) allows you to have real-time conversation with a person or group of people. When you type and send an instant message, the message is immediately visible to all participants. Unlike e-mail, all participants must be online (connected to the Internet) and in front of their computers at the same time.

Newsgroups and web forums allow you to participate in the discussions with a community of others who are interested in the same subject. For example, if you have difficulty using software, you can ask a question in a discussion group for users of this program.

Share. You can transfer files (copy) images from your digital camera to a photo-sharing site. Invited friends and family members can visit the Web site to display your photo albums.

Shop. The Web is the largest shopping mall. You can view and purchase products-books, music, toys, clothing, electronics, and much more on the websites of large retailers (usually a credit card is required). You can also buy and sell items used by websites that use the style auction tender.

Play. You can play games of all kinds on the Web, often against other players, no matter where they are in the world. Many games are free and you can download others for a fee. You can also listen to Internet radio stations, watching video clips and download or buy music, videos, and even some television broadcasts.

Internet connection
To connect your computer to the Internet, you must first register with an Internet service provider (ISP). An ISP provides access to the Internet, usually for a monthly fee. You register for an account with an Internet service provider as you do for telephone service or utilities. To find an Internet service provider in your area, try looking in your telephone directory under "Internet Service Providers."

Different ISPs offer different types of connectivity and speed. There are two types of connections:

Broadband. A broadband connection is a high-speed Internet connection. With a broadband connection, you are connected to the Internet at any time and can display Web pages and download files quickly. Two common broadband technologies DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) technology and cable. They need a cable modem or DSL, which is often provided by your ISP.

Dial-up. A remote connection uses a dial-up modem to connect your computer to the Internet through a standard telephone line. Many computers are sold with a modem already installed. Contrary to broadband, dial-up is slower and requires you to make a new connection every time you want to use the Internet. However, dial-up is cheaper than broadband, and in some areas could be the only option for Internet access.

Once you have an ISP and modem, you're ready to connect to the Internet. Connect to the Internet wizard will guide you through the steps.

Getting on the Web
Once you have established an Internet connection, you can access the Web using Internet Explorer, a Web browser included with Windows. You can also use another browser you have installed on your computer.

To start Internet Explorer

Here is another way to open Internet Explorer: Click the Start button, click Programs, then click Internet Explorer.

When you start Internet Explorer, it goes to all that is set homepage. By default, the homepage is set to MSN.com, a Microsoft Web site with links to a variety of information and services. (The manufacturer of your computer may have set up another page.) However, you can choose any page (or a blank page) as your home page. See Change your Internet Explorer home page.

Tip
To return to your home page at any time, click the Home button in Internet Explorer.

Entering a Web address
Like every residence has a single street name, every Web page has its own Web address. This address is called URL (Uniform Resource Locator). For example, the URL of the Web site Microsoft is http://www.microsoft.com.

If you know the URL of a page, you can type directly in Internet Explorer:

In the Address box, type the URL.

Click the OK button or press Enter to go to the site.

Tips
You do not need to type http://. For example, you can type www.microsoft.com and Internet Explorer in the rest.

To quickly enter a URL ending in '. Com ", type the part between" www. "And". com "and then press ENTER CTRL.

Basic navigation
The aid links. Most Web pages have dozens or even hundreds of links. To get from one page to another, click on a link. However, finding things on a page of links is not always easy. Links can be text, images, or a combination of both. Text links often appear as colored and underlined, but the link styles vary by location.

To test whether something is a link or not, at this point. If it is a link of two things:

The mouse pointer changes to a hand with a finger pointing.

A URL appears in the status bar of your browser. This shows that the site you go if you click on the link.

Using the Previous and Next buttons. As you move from page to page, Internet Explorer keeps track of your journey. To return to the previous page, click the button. Click the Back button several times to retrace your steps further. After you click the Back button you can click the Next button to move forward in the way.

Using recent menu pages. If you want to return to a page you visited in your current session, but want to avoid repeatedly clicking on the Back or Forward buttons, use the recent pages. Click on the arrow next to the Upload button, then select a page from the list.

Web Search
With billions of web pages out there, find the information you need would be impossible if you had to navigate through all of them. Fortunately, there is another way. You can use a search engine to find pages that are most relevant for words or phrases you specify.

Major search engines including Google, Yahoo! Search, MSN Search, AOL Search and Ask.com. You can search the Web directly from any search engine site. Or, to put the stage of navigation in search of the site in the first place, you can use the search box in Internet Explorer, shown here:

Before using the search engine for the first time, choose a default search engine search engine used by Internet Explorer whenever you want. If you do not choose a search service, Live Search is used. (The manufacturer of your computer may have set up another default search engine.)
To search the web search engine
In the Search box, type a few words or a phrase on a subject that interests you, for example, "recipe for chocolate cake." Be as specific as you can.

Press Enter or click the Search button.

A search results page appears. Click on one of the results to go to this website. If you do not see what you want, click Next at the bottom of the page to see more results, or try a new search.

Note
Be aware that some search results are paid advertisements. These are usually labeled "Sponsored Sites" or "Sponsored Links".

Backup favorite web pages
When you find a Web site that you want to come back, save it as a favorite in Internet Explorer. So when you want to return to the site, you can click it in your Favorites list, without having to remember or type the Web address.

To save a Web page as favorite
In Internet Explorer, go to the Web page you want to save as a favorite.

Click the Add to Favorites button, then click Add to Favorites.

In the Name box, type a name for the Web page, then click Add.

To open a bookmark
In Internet Explorer, click the Favorites Center button.

Click on the Favorites button if not already selected.

In the list of favorites, click on the Web page you want to open.

If you have lots of favorites, you can sort them into folders.
History using the list
To view any Web page you've visited in the past 20 days, you can use the History list:

In Internet Explorer, click the Favorites Center button.

Click the History button if not already selected.

In the story, click a day or a week, then click on the name of a Web site. The list expands to display individual web pages you've visited on the site.

Click on the Web page you want to open.

Open multiple Web pages
At one point, you will want to open a second (or third or fourth) Web page without closing the first. To meet this need, Internet Explorer allows you to create a new tab for each page you want to open. You can use the tabs to switch quickly between pages, and you can even see all your pages at once.

To open a Web page on a new tab, click the New button tab:

After clicking the button, a blank page opens a new tab.

Now you can open any Web page by typing a URL, using the search box or by choosing from your list of favorites or history. Once you open multiple pages, click on the tabs to switch between pages.

To see all your open Web pages at once, click the Quick Tabs. You'll see thumbnail versions of each Web page. Click on one to go to this page.

To close a tab, click the Close button on the right side of the tab.

WordPad is a word processor core is included in Windows. A word processor is software that you can use to create, edit, view and print text documents. With WordPad, you can type letters, book reports and other simple documents. You can also change how the text appears to move quickly sentences and paragraphs around, and copy and paste text within and between documents.

The WordPad window
To open WordPad, click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Accessories, then click WordPad.

There are four major parts of the WordPad window:

The toolbar. The toolbar contains buttons for basic commands, including saving and printing. To know what a button, place your mouse over it. A box appears showing the function button.

The format bar. The format bar contains buttons you can use to format the text in your document. For example, you can choose the font, color, and alignment of your text.

The sovereign. Use the ruler to check the layout and placement of text into your document.

The document field. This is where you type your document, make changes to the text and application of your form.

Entering text
When you're ready to begin, type in the area of WordPad. A vertical line drawn flashing cursor indicates where the next text you type will appear. To move the cursor inside the text, click where you want the cursor to appear.

Unlike using a typewriter when you type in WordPad you do not have to press ENTER to start a new line. WordPad will take care of that for you automatically start a new line when you reach the end of the one you're on the job. If you want to start a new paragraph, press ENTER.

Selecting text
Whenever you want to do something to text in your document, such as copying or format, you must first select it. To select text, move the mouse pointer on the left of where you want to start your selection. With the pointer positioned, click and hold the left mouse button as you drag the pointer over the text you want to select. The selected text will be highlighted. Once you have finished your selection, release the mouse button.

Copy or move text
If you have a text in one part of your document you want to appear in another part, there are two ways to get around the text without having to retype it: You can copy and paste it to another location, or you can move it to another location.

When you copy text, it is placed in the clipboard. You can then paste it into another location. The original text is preserved.

When you move the text to another location, the original text is not retained. You may find this method useful when you want to rearrange the sentences and paragraphs in your document.

To copy text and paste it in another place
Select the text you want to copy.

On the Edit menu, click Copy.

Move the cursor where you want to insert the copied text.

On the Edit menu, click Paste.

Tip
To quickly copy the text you've selected, press CTRL C. To paste, press CTRL V.

To move the text to a different location
Select the text you want to move.

Update on the text you've selected, then click and hold the left mouse button.

Drag the selected text in place in your document you want it to appear.

Inserting and deleting text
WordPad, it is easy to insert and delete the text wherever you want. To insert text, click where you want to insert the text and only then start typing. To remove the text, select the text you want to delete and press DELETE.

Tip
If you make a mistake when you edit the text in your document, you can always cancel it. Press CTRL Z to undo your last action.

Formatting your paper
The format refers to how the text appears in your document and how it is organized. WordPad lets you easily change the formatting in your document. For example, you can choose from many different fonts and font sizes, and you can make your text almost any color you want. You can also easily change how your document is aligned.

To change the font, font style, or the font size
Select the text format you want to change.

In the Format menu, click Font.

In the Font box, type or select the font you want to use.

In the font style, type or select the font style you want.

In the Size box, type or select the size you want.

Tip
You can also use the bar on the format change the font, font size and font style.

To change the color
Select the text color you want to change.

In the Format menu, click Font.

Under Color, click the color you want.

To change the alignment
You can align text in your document (or a paragraph in your document) or the left side, center or right margin.

Select the paragraph which alignment you want to change.

In the Format menu, click Paragraph.

Save your document
It is a good idea to save your document periodically while you work on so that in case your computer stops working for some reason you do not lose any of your work. Saving the document will also allow you to come back later if you want to work on it again.

To save the document
On the File menu, click Save.

If you have not saved the document yet, you will be asked to provide a name for the document and location on your computer to make:

In the Save In box, click the location where you want to save the document.

In the File Name box, type a name for your document.

Click Save.

Printing your document
On the File menu, click Print. In the Print dialog box, use the beach area of the page and the number of copies box to specify the pages you want to print, and the number of copies. When you're done, click Print.

Paint is software used to design, color, and edit images. You can use painting as a sketchpad to simple digital photos and creative projects or add text and designs to other images, such as those taken with your digital camera.

The parts of Paint
To open Paint, click Start, click Programs, click Accessories, then click on Paint.

When you start Paint, you see a window that is mostly white with few tools for drawing and painting. The following illustration shows the different parts of the Paint window:

Working with tools
Painting includes a collection of practice drawing tools in the toolbox. You can use these tools to create drawings by hand and add a variety of shapes to your photos.

This section describes some common tasks. For more information about how to use every tool in the toolbox of Paint, Paint see tools.

Draw a line
Some tools, such as pencil, brush, line and curve, let you make a series of straight lines, curves, lines and Wiggly. What you draw is determined by how you move the mouse as you draw. You can use the line tool to draw a straight line, for example.

In the toolbox, click on the tool online.

In the Color box, click the color you want.

To draw, drag the pointer over the drawing area.

Draw a line deformed
Your drawings should not be composed of straight lines only. You can use the curve to create smooth curves, for example. The Pencil and brush can be used to make completely random, free-form shapes.

In the toolbox, click the Pencil tool.

In the Color box, click the color you want.

To draw, drag the pointer over the drawing area.

Tip
If you want to make a broader line, use the brush instead. The brush can be customized with a variety of thicknesses.

Draw a shape
Some tools, such as rectangle and ellipse, you can add shapes to your drawing. The technique is the same whatever the shape of your choice. For example, you can use the Polygon tool to draw a polygon, which is a form that can have any number of parties.

In the toolbox, click the Polygon tool.

In the Options box, click on one completing style:

In black and white. Your form is just a preview, with an internal transparency.

To be completed in black and white. Your form will be filled with the background color. (To define a background color in the Color box, right-click a color.)

Solid. Your form will be filled with the background color, but it will not outline.

To add a polygon, drag the pointer over the drawing area, then click to end the first part.

Drag the pointer to create the next game, and then click to end the coast. Repeat as necessary for other parties.

To create the final side and close the polygon, double-click.

Erase part of your image
If you make a mistake or simply need to change a part of an image, use the eraser. By default, the eraser all the changes, you delete blank, but you can change the color of the eraser. For example, if you set the color yellow gum, anything you erase turns yellow.

In the toolbox, click the Eraser tool.

In the Color box, right-click the color you want to delete. If you want to erase with white, you do not select a color.

Drag the pointer on the area you want to erase.

Changing the effect of drawing tools
The Options box, located below the toolbox, this is where you can change how a tool draws. You can define the thickness of the brush tool (which affects the weight that you draw on the screen) and forms of whether you draw described or solid.

Changing the brush stroke
In the toolbox, click the Brush tool.

In the Options box, click the brush shape you want with paint.

To paint, drag the pointer over the drawing area.

Recording an image
Save your image often to make sure you do not lose your work. To do this, on the File menu, click Save. This saves the changes you've made to the image since the last time you saved.

The first time you save a new image, however, you'll need to give your image a file name. Follow these steps:

On the File menu, click Save.

In the Save as type box, select the file format you want.

In the File Name box, type a name.

Click Save.

You can print almost any document, photo, web page or file you can display on your computer. If you are new to printing, this article may help you understand the types of printer, how to connect a printer to your computer, and printing options.

The printer and the types of technology
The printers are classified by how they reproduce text and graphics on paper. Each type of printer offers different advantages.

Inkjet printers
Inkjet printers print by placing small dots of ink on a page to reproduce text or graphics. Inkjet printers can print in color or black ink. Although ink cartridges must be replaced periodically, inkjet printers are often purchased for home use, because they can be relatively inexpensive. Some inkjet printers can reproduce high quality images and detailed graphics.

Laser Printers
Laser printers use toner, which is a fine, powdery substance, reproduce text and graphics on paper. Laser printers can print in color or black ink, although color laser printers are generally more expensive. A laser printer that can print using only black ink is sometimes referred to as a monochrome printer.

Laser printers are generally high-capacity paper trays, so you do not need to add paper as often as you would for an inkjet printer. They can also print more pages per minute than most inkjet printers can print more pages per cartridge. If you print in large volumes, which means that a laser printer can cost less for each page you print.

Multifunction printers
Inkjet or laser printers also let you fax, photocopying, scanning documents or are regarded as multifunction printers. A single multifunction printer can more convenient to connect your computer to multiple devices. You may also be able to use certain features of a multifunction printer without turning on your computer.

Connecting a printer
Some printers can print without using your computer for example, to print photos directly from a digital camera memory card. However, connecting a printer to your computer lets you print documents, files, pictures, Web pages and more. For more information about how to connect a printer, see Add or remove a printer.

When you add a printer, Windows will automatically install the software that allows it to work with your computer. You can add a printer using a wired or wireless.

Wired printers
A printer is connected to any printer that connects to a computer using a cable and a port on the computer. Most printers use a universal serial bus (USB). When you connect a printer to your computer wire and power, Windows will automatically try to install the printer for you. If Windows can not detect the printer, you can find and add the printer manually.

Wireless printers
A wireless printer is a printer that connects to a computer using either Bluetooth or another wireless technology, such as 802.11a, 802.11b or 802.11g.

Bluetooth technology uses radio transmissions to allow a printer to communicate with your computer over a short distance. To connect a Bluetooth printer, you need to add a Bluetooth adapter to your computer. Most Bluetooth adapters plug into a USB port on your computer. When you plug the adapter and turn on the Bluetooth printer, Windows will try to automatically install, or invite you to install. If Windows can not detect the printer, you can find and add it manually.

To connect a printer via a Bluetooth wireless technology than others, both your computer and the printer must be connected to a wireless network. Check the information that came with your printer to see if a wireless network adapter. If not, you need to add before you can connect the printer to your wireless network. To avoid interference between a wireless printer and your computer, try not to locate wireless phones or other wireless devices near the printer.

Make sure your printer is ready to print
After adding a printer, it's a good idea to print a test page to ensure that the printer works properly. A test page prints sample text and graphics in color or black and white, depending on the type of printer you're using. It could also display information on the printer, such as printer driver name and version, which can help resolve problems if the printer is not working properly.
If you add a printer only, it becomes your default printer. This means that the printer is automatically selected when you print a document or file. If you add more than one printer, you can select the printer to use by default. Choose the printer you use most often.
Print using Windows
The quickest way to print a document or file to be printed using Windows. You do not need to open the file, choose printing options, or change printer settings. Windows will print the document to your default printer.

Click to open documents.

Find the file you want to print.

Right-click the file, then click Print. Windows will be printed with your printer settings by default.

Print using software
To print using software, open document, image, or file that you want to print. After opening the document in software, you can choose options for printing.

Common printing options
Most printing options are located in the Print dialog box, which you can access from the File menu in a program. The options available to you depend on the issue and the printer you are using. To access certain options, you may need to click on the "Preferences", "Properties", or "Advanced" link or button in the Print dialog box.

Common print options for a program include:

Selecting the printer. You can select a printer from a list of printers that are connected to your computer.

Page range. You can print specific pages or sections of a document. To select individual pages or a sequence (range) of pages, you can usually the type of page numbers, separated by commas or hyphens. For example, if you type 1,4,5-7, only pages 1 and 4, then pages 5 to 7, will be printed.

The selection option lets you print only the text or graphics that you selected in the document. The current page option lets you print only the current page.

Number of copies and bring them together. You can print more than one copy of a document, image, or file at a time. Use the option to collect print all pages in a document at once, in order, before printing multiple copies of the document.

The page orientation. Also known as document layout, this option allows you to print the contents of the page Top (Portrait) or across the page (Landscape).

Paper size. If your printer can print more than one size paper, this option allows you to select the paper size you have loaded into the printer.

Production of paper or source. Also known as destination or output paper tray, this option allows you to specify the paper tray of the printer to use. In this way, you can load and store different sizes in each tray.

The two-sided printing. Also called duplex or duplex, this option allows you to print on both sides of a sheet of paper. This option is only available if your printer supports.

Print in color or black in. This option is only available if your printer supports.

Use Print Preview
To see what the printed copy will be like before printing it, open the document in a program that offers a print preview. The print preview is usually in the File menu for a program. You should be able to preview each page of the document. In some, you can choose options print preview mode, and then print directly from the preview. In other programs, you may have to close the preview, change the document or settings for your printer, then print it.

If you view or print a document and this is not the way you, you may need to change the document or change the printing options. For example, if only a portion of your single document on the printed page, you may need to reduce the font size, lower margins, or change the layout, then try to print again.

Track your print jobs
When you send a document or any other type of file to a printer, it becomes a job. Some printers have a screen that displays an alert if a problem such as low toner or paper jam occurs. Many printers display a message in the notification area on your computer. Use Windows, you can view the print queue to keep track of your print jobs. The print queue displays information about the documents that are waiting to print, such as the status of printing the document owner, and the number of pages to print. You can use the print queue to view, suspend, resume, restart, and cancel print jobs.

This article will help you learn to find, organize and use files and folders on your computer.

What files and folders?

A file is very much like a typed document that you might find on the desk of someone or in a workbook, is a point that contains a collection of related information. On a computer, examples of files include text documents, spreadsheets, digital images, and even songs. Each photo you take with a digital camera, for example, is a separate file and a music CD may contain a dozen individual song files.

Your computer represents files with icons. Looking at an icon of the file, you can tell at a glance what kind of file it is. Some of the icons of file:

A file is just over a container in which you can store files. If you have thousands of paper files on the desktop of someone, it would be virtually impossible to find any particular when you need it. That is why people often store paper files in folders in a workbook. Arranging files in logical groups, it is easy to locate a particular file.

The files on your computer work exactly the same way. This is typical of what a folder icon is as follows:

Not only files to keep records, but they can also hold other folders. A folder in a folder is usually called a subfolder. You can create any number of sub-folders, and each can contain any number of files and subfolders.

How Windows organizes your files and folders
When it comes to organize, you do not need to start from scratch. Windows comes with a handful of files you can use as anchors to begin organizing your files. Here is a list of some of the most common that you can store your files and folders:

Documents. Use this folder to store your word processing files, spreadsheets, presentations, and other companies based files.

Photos. Use this folder to store all your digital photos, if you get from your camera, scanner, or e-mail other people.

Music. Use this folder to store all your digital music, such as songs that you copy from an audio CD or download from the Internet.

Videos. Use this folder to store your videos, such as clips from your digital camera, camcorder or video files you download from the Internet.

Downloads. Use this folder to store files and programs you download from the Web.

There are several ways to find these files. The easiest way is to open the file, which includes all of your files in one place. The personnel file is not called "personal"-that is labeled with the name that you used to connect to the computer. To open, click the Start button, then click your user name at the top of the Start menu right window.

You can also find documents, pictures, music and folders on the Start menu, right below your personal file.

Remember that you can create subfolders in one of these folders to help you better organize your files. In the Pictures folder, for example, you can create subfolders to organize photos by date, event, the names of people in the pictures, or any other system that helps you work more efficiently.

Understanding the pieces of a file
When you open a folder on the desktop, a folder window appears. In addition to showing the contents of the folder, a folder window has a variety of pieces that are designed to help you navigate around Windows or work with files and folders more easily. Here is a typical case and each of its parts:

Viewing your files in a folder
When you open a folder and see your files, you may prefer larger (or smaller) icons, or an arrangement that allows you to see different kinds of information about each file. For these types of changes, use the Views button in the toolbar.

Each time you click the Views button, the folder window changes the way it displays your files and folder icons, alternating between large icons, small icon view called tiles, and called for details shows that several columns of information on file.

If you click the arrow next to the Views button, you have more choices. Drag the cursor up or down to refine the size of the file and folder icons. You can see the change in the size of icons that you move the cursor.

Find your files
When you need to find a particular file, you know that often it is somewhere in a folder as documents or photos. Unfortunately, actually locate the file you want might mean browsing through hundreds of files and subfolders, not an easy task. To save you time and effort, use the search engine to find your file.

The search box is located at the top of each folder. To find a file, open the folder that contains the file you want, click the search box and start typing. The search box to filter the current view on the basis of the text you type. The files are displayed as search results if your search term is the name of the file, tags, or other file properties. Text documents are displayed if the search term occurs throughout the text within the document. Your search looks in the current folder and all subfolders.

If you have no idea where to look for a file, you can expand your search to include the entire computer, not just one folder.
Copy or move files and folders
Sometimes you may want to modify the files are stored on your computer. You may want to move files to a different folder, for example, or copy them to removable media (such as CD or memory cards) to share with another person.

Most people copy and move files using a drag and drop. Start by opening the folder that contains the file or folder you want to move. Next, open the folder where you want to move. Place the Windows folder on the desktop so you can see the contents of two of them.

Then, drag the file or folder from the first case to the second issue. That's all there is to it.

When you use the drag and drop method, you will notice that sometimes the file or folder is copied, and at other times, it moves. Why is this? If you drag an object between folders that are on the same hard disk, then the objects are moved to two copies of the same file or folder are not created on the same hard disk. If you drag the item to a folder that is on another hard disk (for example a network location, for example) or removable media like a CD, then the question is copied. In this way, the file or folder is not removed from its original location.

Creating and deleting files
The most common way to create new files using software. For example, you can create a text document in a word processor or a video file in a video editing program.

Some software create a file when you open them. When you open WordPad, for example, it starts with a blank page. This represents a vacuum (and unrecorded) file. Start typing, and when you're ready to save your work, click File on the menu bar, then click Save As. In the dialog box that appears, type a file name that will help you find the file again in the future, then click Save.

By default, most programs save files in common files such as documents, pictures, and music, making it easy to find the files again next time. For more information about creating new files, see Save a file.

When you no longer need a file, you can delete it from your computer's hard drive to save space and maintain your computer is cluttered with unwanted files. To delete a file, open the folder that contains the file and select the file. Press DELETE, then in the dialog box Delete Files, click Yes.

When you delete a file, it is temporarily stored in the Recycle Bin. Consider the trash as a safety record that allows you to retrieve files or folders that you've deleted accidentally. Opening an existing file
To open a file, double-click it. The file opens in the software that you used to create or edit. If it is a text file, for example, it will open in your word processing program.

It is not always the case, though. Double-click on a digital photo, for example, generally open a picture viewer. Effectively change the image, you need to use another program. Right-click the file, click Open With, then click on the name of the program you want to use.

Almost everything you do on your computer requires using a program. For example, if you want to draw a picture, you need to use a drawing or painting program. To write a letter, you use a word processor. To explore the Internet, you use a software called a Web browser. Thousands are available for Windows.

Starting a program
The Start menu is the gateway to all programs on your computer. To open the Start menu, click the Start button. The left pane of the Start menu contains a list of programs, including your Internet browser, e-mail, and recently used programs. To start a program, click it.

If you do not see the program you want to open but know its name, type all or part of the name in the search engine at the bottom of the left window. For example, to find Windows Photo Gallery, type photo or gallery in the Search box. The left pane instantly displays search results. Under Programs, click on a program to open it.

To browse a complete list of your software, click the Start button, then click All programs. For more information, see the Start menu (overview).

Tip
You can also start a program by opening a file. Opening the file automatically opens the program associated with this file. See open a file or folder.

Using commands in programs
Most contain dozens or even hundreds of commands (actions) that you use to work program. Many of these commands are organized under menus. Like a restaurant menu, a program menu shows you a list of choices. To keep the net screen, menus are hidden until you click on the titles in the menu bar, located just below the title bar. For example, clicking on "Image" in the paint menu bar displays the Image menu:

To choose one of the commands in a menu, click it. Sometimes a dialog box appears, where you can select other options. If a command is unavailable and can not be clicked, it is shown in gray, as the crop in the picture.

Toolbars provide access to frequently used commands in the form of buttons or icons. These orders usually appear in the software menu, too, but toolbars let you choose a command with a single click. Toolbars usually appear just below the menu bar:

Click a toolbar button performs a command. In WordPad, for example, clicking the Save button saves the document. To find out what a toolbar button has at this point. The name of the button or function appears:

Creating a new document
Many programs let you create, edit, save and print documents. In general, a document is any type of file you can edit. For example, a word processor is a type of document, as is a spreadsheet, an e-mail, and a presentation. However, the terms of documents and files are often used interchangeably, pictures, music clips, videos and you can edit files are usually called, even if they are technically documents.

Some software, including WordPad, NotePad, and paintings, open a blank, untitled document automatically when you start the software, so you can start working immediately. You will see a large white area and a generic word like "Untitled" or "Document" in the software of the title bar.

If your program does not open a new document automatically when it starts, you can do yourself:

Click the File menu in the software you use, then click New. If you can open more than one type of document in the software, you might also need to select the type from a list.

Saving a document
As you work on a document, your additions and changes are stored in your computer memory (RAM). The storage of information in RAM is temporary, if your computer is switched off or fails, all information in memory is erased.

Saving a document allows you to appoint and store them permanently on your hard disk. In this way, the document is retained even when your computer is off, and you can open it again later.

To save a document
On the File menu, click Save. If this is the first time you save the document, you will be asked to provide a name for herself and a location on your computer to make.

Even if you saved a document once, you need to keep the backup as you work. This is because the changes you made since your last save the document is stored in RAM, not on the hard disk. To avoid losing the work unexpectedly because of a power outage or other problem, save your document every few minutes.

Moving information between files
Most allow you to share text and images between them. For example, you can copy text or a picture from a Web page in Internet Explorer to a document in WordPad. When you copy information, it goes into a temporary storage area called the clipboard. From there you can paste into a document.

Before you start moving information around, you must understand how to switch between open windows on your desktop.
Cancel your last action
Most allow you to cancel (reverse) actions you take, the mistakes you make. For example, if you delete a paragraph in a document accidentally WordPad, you can get by using the Undo command. If you draw a line in the painting that you do not cancel your line straight away and he disappears.

To cancel an action
On the Edit menu, click Cancel.

Get help with software
Almost every program comes with its own in-aid system for those times when you're confused about how the program.

To access a software support system:

Remember to save your document before leaving the program. If you do not work and try to exit the program, the software will ask you if you want to save the document:

To return to the issue without leaving it, click Cancel.

The installation or uninstalling programs
You are not limited to use the programs that came with your computer, you can buy new programs on CD or DVD or download programs (free or fee) of the Internet.

Install a program meant to add to your computer. After software is installed, it appears in your Start menu in the list all programs. Some software can also add a shortcut on your desktop.

Menus, buttons, scroll bars, and checkboxes are examples of controls that you have with your mouse or keyboard. These controls allow you to select commands, change settings, or to operate with Windows. This section describes how to recognize and use the controls that you encounter often using Windows.

Using menus
Most contain dozens or even hundreds of commands (actions) that you use to work program. Many of these commands are organized under menus. Like a restaurant menu, a program menu shows you a list of choices. To keep the net screen, menus are hidden until you click on the titles in the menu bar, located just below the title bar. For example, clicking on "Image" in painting from the menu bar displays the Image menu:

To choose one of the commands in a menu, click it. Sometimes a dialog box appears, where you can select other options. If a command is unavailable and can not be clicked, it is shown in gray, as the crop in the picture.

Some elements of menu commands are not at all. Instead, they open other menus. In the next image, pointing to "Zoom" opens a sub-menu. Pointing to "Custom" from the submenu opens yet another sub-menu.

If you do not see the command you want, try to look at another menu. Move your mouse pointer along the menu bar and menus open automatically, you do not need to click the menu bar again. To close a menu without selecting a command, click the menu bar or any other part of the window.

Recognizing menus is not always easy, because not all menu controls are similar or even appear on a menu bar. So how can you spot them? When you see an arrow next to a word or picture, you're probably looking for a menu of control. Here are some examples:

If a shortcut is available for order, it is next to the command.

Use the scroll bars
When a document, web page or image exceeds the size of its window, scroll bars appear to allow you to see information that is currently out of sight. The following image shows the elements of a scroll bar.

To run a scroll bar:

Click the up or down arrows to scroll through the window content up or down in small steps. Hold the mouse button to scroll continuously.

Click an empty area of a scroll bar above or below the box to scroll up or down a page.

Drag a scroll up, down, left or right to scroll the window in that direction.

Tip
If your mouse has a scroll wheel, you can use to scroll through documents and Web pages. To scroll down, roll the wheel back (toward you). Scroll up, roll the wheel forward (away from you).

The assistance of command buttons
A command button executes a command (do something) when you click it. You'll most often see them in dialog boxes, which are small windows that contain options for completing a task. For example, if you close Paint a picture without saving it first, you might see a dialog box like this:

To close the photo, you must first click Yes or No button. Click Yes and save the image changes you made, click No and removes the photo and discards any changes you've made. Clicking Cancel rejects the dialog and returns you to the program.

Tip
Pressing ENTER does the same thing as clicking a command button is selected (indicated).

Outside the dialogs, command buttons vary in appearance, it is sometimes difficult to know what is a button and what is not. For example, command buttons often appear as small icons (pictures) without any text or rectangular. The photo below shows a variety of command buttons:

The surest way to determine if something is a command button is to rest your pointer over it. If it "lights" and is framed by a rectangle, you discovered a button. Most buttons also display a text on their function when you point at them:

If a button turns into two parts when you point to it, you discovered a fraction of a button. By clicking on the main part of running a command button while clicking the arrow opens a menu with more options.

Using buttons
Option buttons allow you to make a choice between two or more options. They appear frequently in dialog boxes. The photo below shows three buttons. The "Flip vertical" is selected.

To select an option, click a button. One option may be selected.

Use check boxes
Checkboxes allow you to select one or several options. Unlike buttons, you are limited to a choice, checkboxes let you choose several options at the same time.

To make check boxes:

Click an empty box to select or "turn on" this option. A check mark appears in the square, which indicates that the option is selected.

To disable an option, clear (remove) the boat by clicking on it.

The options that currently can not be selected or authorized are shown in gray.

The cursors
A slider lets you adjust a setting along a range of values. It is as follows:

A cursor along the bar shows the value currently selected. In the example above, the cursor is positioned midway between slow and fast, which indicates an average speed of the pointer.

To drive a cursor, drag the cursor to the value you want.

Using text boxes
A text box allows you to enter information such as a search term or password. The image below shows a dialog box containing a text box. We Entered "ours" in the text box.

A vertical line called the blinking cursor indicates where the text you type will appear. In the example, you can see the cursor after the "r" of "bear". You can easily move the cursor by clicking on the new post. For example, to add a word before "bear", first you move the cursor by clicking before "B."

If you do not see the cursor in the text box, it means that the text box is not ready for your contribution. Click on the box first, then start typing.

Text boxes that require you to enter a password usually hide your password that you type, if someone else is looking at your screen.

The assistance of dropdowns
Dropdown menus are similar. Instead of clicking on an order, if you choose an option. When closed, a drop-down list shows only option currently selected. Other options are hidden until you click the control, as indicated below:

To open a drop-down list, click it. To choose an option from the list, click the option.

Using the list boxes
A list box displays a list of options you can choose. Unlike a drop-down list, some or all options are visible without having to open the list.

To choose an option from the list, click it. If the option you want is not visible, use the scroll bar to scroll up or down. If the box has a text box above, you can type the name or the value of the option.

Using tabs
In some dialog boxes, options are divided into two or more tabs. Only a tab or a set of options can be considered at a time.

The currently selected tab appears before the other tabs. To switch to another tab, click the tab.

When you open a program, file or folder, it appears on your screen in a box or a window frame call (which is where the Windows operating system gets its name). Why are all the windows in Windows, it is important to understand how to move, resize it, or simply make them disappear.

Parts of a window
Although the contents of each window are different, all windows share some things in common. On the one hand, the windows always appear on the desktop, the main work area of the screen. In addition, most of the windows have the same basic parts:

Title bar. Displays the name of the document and program (or the folder name if you are working in a folder).

Minimize, Maximize, and Close buttons. These buttons hide the window, expand it to cover the whole screen, and close, respectively (more details on these little).

Menu bar. Contains elements that can click to make decisions in a program. See Using menus, buttons, bars and boxes.

Scroll bar. It lets you scroll through the contents of the window to see the information that is currently out of sight.

The boundaries and corners. You can drag these with your mouse to resize the window.

Other windows may have additional buttons, boxes, or bars. But what we usually have the basic parts, too.

Move a window
To move a window, select your title bar with the mouse pointer. Then drag the window to the desired location. (Drag means to bring to an issue, holding the mouse button, move the issue with the pointer, and then release the mouse button.)

Changing the size of a window
To make a window fill the entire screen, click the Maximize button or double-click the window's title bar.

To return a maximized window to its previous size, click the Restore button (it appears in place of the Maximize button). Or, double-click the window's title bar.

To resize a window (which is smaller or larger), at any point in the window borders or corners. When the mouse pointer changes to a two-headed arrow (see photo below), drag the edge or corner to reduce or enlarge the window.

A window that is maximized can not be resized. You must return to its previous size in the first place.

Observe
While most of the windows can be resized up, and there are some windows that are fixed in size, such as dialog boxes.

Hide a window
Hide a window that is called minimization of the same. If you want a window of the house without temporarily close it, minimize it.

To minimize a window, click the minimize button. The window disappears from the desktop and is visible only as a button on the taskbar, the long horizontal bar at the bottom of the screen.

To make a minimized window will reappear on the desktop, click its button on the taskbar. The window appears exactly as it did before it was minimized. For more information about the taskbar, see The taskbar (overview).

Close a Window
Closing a window that eliminates from the desktop and the taskbar. If you're done with a program or document and does not need to return to it immediately, close it.

Switching between windows

Using the taskbar. The taskbar provides a way to organize all your windows. Each window has a button on the taskbar. To switch to another window, click its button on the taskbar. The window in front of all other windows, making it the active window, which is currently working in.

To easily identify a window, select the button on your taskbar. A small picture called A thumbnail that shows a thumbnail of the window. This preview is especially useful if you can not identify a window by its title alone.

If the taskbar gets too full of buttons, and buttons for the same program are grouped into a single button, as shown in the picture below. Click the button to see a menu of items in the group, then select a theme for which is the active window.
Using ALT TAB. You can change to the previous screen by pressing ALT TAB, or cycle through all open windows on the desktop, and by holding the ALT and repeatedly pressing TAB. ALT release window to display selected.

Using Windows Flip 3D. Windows Flip 3D Windows organizes three-dimensional stack that can quickly flip through. To use Flip 3D:

Hold down the Windows logo and press TAB to open Flip 3D.

While holding down the button with the Windows logo, press TAB repeatedly or rotate the mouse wheel to scroll through open windows. You can also press right arrow or down arrow to move forward toward a window, or press the left or the up arrow to move back a window.

Release the key with the Windows logo to display the window frontmost in the stack. Or, click on any part of any window in the stack to show that window.

Observe
Flip 3D and taskbar previews the window will not work unless your computer is running Windows Aero, the premium visual experience for Windows Vista. Aero is not available in Windows Vista Starter or Windows Vista Home Basic.
Tip
You can also open Flip 3D button Switch between windows button on the taskbar. Then click on a window of the stack to show that window, click in or out of the stack to close Flip 3D without changing the windows.

Arrange the windows automatically
Now he knows how to move and resize windows, you can arrange them however you like on your desktop. You also can have Windows automatically organize in one of three ways: they Cascade, stacked vertically or side by side.

Training Computer:Windows Sidebar and gadgets (overview)

Windows Sidebar is a long, vertical bar that appears next to his desk. It contains mini-programs called gadgets, which provide information at a glance and provide access to frequently used tools. Getting started with gadgets
Windows comes with a small collection of gadgets, but only some of them appear in the Sidebar by default. To understand how to use the gadgets, we will explore three gadgets that you see in the sidebar when you first start Windows: the clock, Slide Show, food and news.

How does the clock working?
When the point-to-Clock gadget, two buttons appear near the top right corner: the Close button, which is the top button and the Options button.

When you click the Close button removes the watch of the sidebar. The button below the Close button displays the options for naming the clock, changing your time zone, and showing its second part.

Note
Not all gadgets have an Options button. Gadgets without an Options button does not have the settings that can be changed.

How can you work Slide Show?
Next try to rest your cursor over the gadget slide show, showing a slide show of images on your computer.

When the slide show, and close the Options button will appear near the top right corner of the gadget.

Clicking the Options button lets you choose the images on your slide show, control the speed at which your slide show plays, and change the transition effect between images.

By default, Slide Show displays items in the folder of pictures shows.

Point slide show, and when the Options button appears, click it.

In the Folder box, select the location of the pictures you want.

Click OK.

To set the slideshow speed and transition effect

In the Show each list box, select the number of seconds to display each picture.

In the transition between images of the list, select the transition you want.

Click OK.

How can you work in food news?
News Feed can display frequently updated headlines from a website that provides food, also known as RSS, XML feeds, syndicated content, or web feeds. Web sites often use feeds to distribute news and blogs. To receive food, you need an Internet connection. By default, news feed presents no headlines. To begin to show a small set of preselected headlines, click View headlines.

When the news about food, and close the Options button will appear near the top right corner of the gadget. Clicking the Options button allows you to select from a list of available feeds. You can add to the list by choosing their own food on the web.

To choose a feed from the Web with Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer, a Web browser included with Windows, look at all the feeds site you visit.

Click to open Internet Explorer.

Go to a website that has feeds.

(When Internet Explorer is available food, feed button in the toolbar in Internet Explorer, will change from gray to orange).

Click on the arrow next to the Feeds button, and then on the list that appears, click the food you want.

On the web page that appears, click Subscribe to this feed.

In the dialog box that appears, click Subscribe.

The food must be available to News Feed. To display the feed additive in feed news, see the procedure below.

The gadgets you have?
Before a gadget can be added to the sidebar, which must be installed on your computer. To see the gadgets that are installed on your computer:

At the top of the Sidebar, click the plus sign () to open the gallery gadget.

Click the scroll buttons to see all the gadgets.

Click on a gadget, and then click Show Details to see information about it at the bottom of the dialog box.

Add and remove gadgets
You can add any installed gadget to Sidebar. You can add multiple instances of a gadget. For example, if you are keeping track of time in two time zones, you can add two instances of the Clock gadget and set the time of each accordingly.

To add a gadget to Sidebar
At the top of the Sidebar, click the plus sign () to open the gallery gadget.

To remove a gadget from Sidebar
Right-click the gadget, and then click Close gadget.

The organization of gadgets
You can organize your gadgets in any of several ways:

You can keep all the gadgets attached to the sidebar.

You can change the display order of gadgets in the sidebar. To do this, drag a gadget to a new position.

You can keep some gadgets attached to the sidebar and place some on the desktop.

You can remove all the gadgets from the Sidebar and place on the desktop. If you organize your gadgets this way, you may want to close the Sidebar.

To place a gadget on your desktop
You can remove the gadgets from the Sidebar and place them anywhere on the desktop.

To remove a gadget from the Sidebar, then drag it to the desktop. To return the gadget, drag anywhere in the Sidebar.

Tip
If you have trouble dragging a gadget, you may need to drag in a different part of the gadget as an edge or corner.

To close the Sidebar
You may want to close the sidebar if you remove all the gadgets on it.

The taskbar is the long horizontal bar at the bottom of the screen. Unlike the desktop, which may be obscured by the windows at the top of it, the taskbar is visible almost all the time. It has four main sections:

In the Start button, open the Start menu. See the Start menu (overview).

The Quick Launch toolbar, which lets you launch programs with one click.

The middle section, which shows you what programs and documents that have been open and lets you quickly switch between them.

The notification area, which includes a clock and icons (small pictures) that communicate the status of certain programs and computer settings.

It is very likely to use the central section of the taskbar more, so let's discuss that first.

Keep track of your windows

The Quick Launch toolbar

To reduce clutter, Windows hides the icons in the notification area when they have not been used in a while. If you become icons hidden, click Show hidden icons temporarily to the screen icons hidden.

The Start menu is the main gateway to its computer programs, folders and settings. It's called a menu because it offers a list of options, like a restaurant menu. And as in "Start" implies, it is often the place you are going to start or open things up.

Getting started with the Start menu
To open the Start menu, click the Start button in the lower left corner of the screen. Or, press the Windows logo key on your keyboard. The Start menu appears.

The Start menu is divided into three basic parts:

The big left panel shows a short list of programs on your computer. Your computer manufacturer may customize this list, so its exact appearance will vary. When you click All Programs shows a complete list of programs (more on that later).

In the lower left corner is the search box that allows you to search for programs and files on your computer by typing in search terms.

The right panel gives access to commonly used folders, files, settings and features. It is also where you go to log off or shut down your Windows computer.

The opening program from the Start menu
One of the most common uses of the Start menu is the opening of the programs installed on your computer. To open a program shown in the left pane of the Start menu, click it. The program opens and closes the Start menu.

If you do not see the program you want to open, click All Programs at the bottom of the left pane. Instantly, the left panel shows a long list of programs in alphabetical order, followed by a list of folders:
